    True, but that is more likely to go wrong and our very own evangelist will be the fall guy. On the other hand, he can angle himself to manage the evaluation, selection, modification, and implementation of the package at far less risk to himself and probably for almost as much time, and come out smelling of roses.

      if he manages this process the big five way, he will present the various options on powerpoints to the management and let them think they decided on the bespoke solution, those same managers will put their signatures on the paper and when it all goes tits up they'll be begging him to help them solve it $$$
