When I was applying I wrote to them and asked how I was going to get all my previous work references when most of the places I had worked for were shut. That was in 2002 and everywhere I had worked for was a dot com victim.

They just said give us your payslips.

Can the Embassy be trusted not to contact your referees and get half a dozen Australians placed before never contacting you again and denying that a vacant position ever existed?
