Yes. Really. All you need is an unlimited budget which America had at that time.

I'd say that's not the point. If you had an unlimited budget then why bother with the sham?
I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt, not that fancy store-bought dirt... I can't compete with that stuff.

Depends on what the conspiracy is and what the theory is. They usually arise when there is one or more aspect of the "official story" that appears to be "unrealistic, far-fetched or unreasonable". The harder it is to address these anomalies the more popular the conspiracy theory becomes.

Moon landings - most of the anomalies have been successfully addressed.
JFK murder - I dont buy that magic bullet account
9/11 - quite a few questions not answered

The rumours of numerous attepts to assassinate Castro, they were conspiracy theories at the time. Now they are fact.

Anyone who believes Government doesn't decieve the populous on a regualr basis is dafter then they look.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

A rudimentary appreciation, understanding and experience of the world and a knowledge of history would tell you that conspiracies cannot be sustained indefinitely.

And sometimes the conspiracy is so much "harder" to engineer than reality, that believing in one is obviously pants.

Take for example the "Man didn't land on the moon" loonies. This is a classic case of the fact that it is easier to land on the moon (which really only requires a knowledge of Newtonian mechanics and solutions to some practical engineering problems) than to create the impression that man landed on the moon and then sustain that untruth for decades.

You cant just write off conspiracy theories. Because all facts which are called as Laws of nature today have been theories previously.

Galileo's theories were completely against the World's perspective at that time and now everone believe on that.

You never know after 200-300 years, maybe quite a few of these theories will be a fact....

My brother is into his conspiracy theories

He is certain that 9/11 was masterminded by the US government for some reason.

The true reason is that he can look at a government and see someone to blame - it gives him comfort that it is a recognisable body doing all the bad things and not a bunch of faceless terrorists who could strike at any time.

I personally think he has been smoking to much weed.

Yes but who has been supplying him, whats the motive, and what is it they are trying to cover up. And why has it taken so long for this to come out ?

Hmm, in my mind there's no doubt that terrorists did this but the dark and dodgy dealings the CIA had with 'rebels' in Afghanistan in the 80's & 90's probably went someway to put them in the position to carry out such an attack, the American government don’t want to talk about that though.

Does the Iraq war qualify as a conspiracy? It’s obviously a war for oil but no-one in officialdom would admit that either.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
