    pay the milkman
    pay the bread
    top up the lecky
give the daughter her pocket money
    pay back all the 'borrows'
buy two weeks worth of food.

so here is problem number 2. what food can you buy that will last two weeks. answer - tins, spuds, eggs.

So I became an expert in cooking up cheap tinned meals

Beans with curry powder, one boiled egg, toast.
Spahetti hoops, bit of cheese, toast
tin of meatballs , curry powder , toast
tin of corned beef , mustard , toast
tin of fish, tomato ketchup, toast
    tin of bolegnese, toast
    chip butties

    repeat (for ten years)

Surprised you didnt include Porridge on that list - ultra cheap very filling and one of the best foods going - keeps your blood sugar level constant though the day - good roughage as well !

Porrddge s quick and simple to prepare - if you dont have that much time in the morning I tend to cook mine at night and reheat - you can always microwave Porridge,.

It tastes better if you can prepare in the evening by simmering very gently then (makijng sure the lid is closed) let it cook oeverbight (remember to turn the gas off!)

m 49 this month and fit as a fiddle and having a great life - Im sure that Porridge is my secret fuel -over the past three years Ive missed a half days work - and that was because I overslept after 'pver celebrating' the night before .

you had half a day off ?

I rest my case. I never had half a day off, well except that time my curried beans and eggs blasted me into a low orbit back in '81

It is survival money. The whole point is that you find another job and then you can once again afford varied drugs/addictions.

The benefit system (IMHO) is very good. Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit are the two life savers. If you haven't taken on lots of debt (a mortgage is a debt) then these two claimable amounts will keep you going for a long time. There are upper limits obviously, but as long as you live in a property suitable for your needs, it is all covered.

Housing Benefit can only be claimed for two years. New Rules, and about time too !!

You seem an expert on the benefits system. And frankly I'm not surprised. You seem to be one of those blowhards who pretend to be Tory by principle while claiming all the benefits you can get.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Well it wasnt due to Illness .

I was out at a nightclub up till five thirty - got home thought I'll just have an hours kip before showering and cycling to work - next thing I know is was 11 oclock in the morning.

Oh well Heaven did not fall and I lost half a days wage - but it wasnt the fault of the Porridge.

Perhaps I should be more specific.

Mortgage Interest(SMI) is only paid for JSA claimaints for a max of two years.
