You mean the cyclists in London actually cycle on the road?
You don't know how good you've got it round those parts.

      Yikes.

Took the new bike out for a spin last night, and I'm shocked at how out of shape I am. I did welly it into top gear and carve around town at some speed - but I was only out for about 20mins and I broke a sweat.

Not good. Will have to sort myself out if I'm ever going to entertain the idea of commuting in, let alone the relay bit of a triathalon a mate wants me to take part in ().

These 'cross bikes have a fantastic low-to-high gear range btw. Wish it wasn't forecasting rain for tomorrow.

For £55, you probably have something that weighs half a ton - so don't feel bad.

When cycling, I try to think, "what would be the most stupid thing that a driver could do?"

They're not a good idea, unless you're only doing a couple of km. Get yourself a Brooks saddle, anything without springs. Hurt a bit for the first couple of hundred km, but after that they last a good while.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
