What scheme did you live in when you grew up?
My Dad left the police before I was born. We grew up in the middle east where my dad was transport manager for a middle eastern shipping company getting paid a fortune by UK standards tax free. I've been educated through the private schooling system from the age of 3. My parents haven't had a mortgage on any of their properties since I was six.

Sort of destroys your misconceptions, but then again that's you to a tee.

Can you please point me to my previous post where I've stated I'm racist.

So did nobody tell you to gome home when you were in the middle east?

Not at all, we integrated and respected their culture.

Very good, but why where you there in the first place? Was your education better than the education given to the locals?

Why was I there? Because my parents took me with them. If what you mean is why were my parents there, then that's because the Arabs are inherently racist and prefer Western Europeans and North Americans to Asians for the white collar work.

I went to a private English speaking primary school with British teachers (getting paid double UK salary tax free) so yes the standard of education was very high, however it was open to anyone who could afford the fees.

Now I'll leave you to your own devices, I'm watching the football.

It must be terrible for a nation to admit that immigrants have a higher standard of education

The welfare state and the growth of education were indeed the saviours of the Catholic population. The former raised living standards for everyone, irrespective of their ethnic or religious background. The latter extended the ladder of opportunity for Catholics from manual labour into the professions. By the mid-1970s, Catholic schools were closing the gap on their non-denominational counterparts; by the 1990s they were outperforming them by sending proportionately more working-class pupils to university.

Manual labour, your father came from an outdoor factory. As much as you dress it up you are working class, your points of view reflect that.

You really are a tool aren't you? Scotland was a Catholic country once as well you chomper, not every Catholic is an immigrant. Anyway, I went to boarding school which had a far higher standard than any state school as currently proved by the league tables and demand for that school. You seem to be the one trying to defend your education here when no-one else has mentioned it. Are you ashamed of your upbringing? Did the priest touch you at school? Did you secretly enjoy it?

I've never denied my parents came from a working class background; my Dad was brought up in Govan and my Mum in the Gorbals. They're now quite happily middle class as am I. I'm not ashamed of my parents heritage, but you quite clearly are a prize tw@t and a snob to boot and what most probably makes it even more hilarious is that I bet I've got far more money and assets than you have.
