right. i didn't say it's OK, because i don't think it's OK. as far as i can tell, nobody spent £500k on teaching vets to play bongos, right? however much they did spend on bongos is, of course, too much, since such exercises are always a waste of someone's money (and time). so my main points are (1) this is really just another rabble-rousing sensationalist headline and (2) there are much larger, less morally defensible wastes of taxpayer money that by and large get ignored, at least around here.
as an aside, it does seem that any spending of public funds is too much according to some of you lot, but do correct me if i'm wrong on that. looking at you DP and you Sasguru in particular for clarification on that one.
finally, i notice with some delight that ruprect is now publicly declaring love for me in his forum sig but has, in a cowardly climbdown, changed his avatar from the picture of a penis he's been proudly sporting for the last few weeks. something must have got to him.
