Several respected medical professionals have suggested just that.
    I'm deadly serious.
The point is how you make people pay for their choices.
Everyone has a right to behave how they want UNTIL it starts to affect someone else.
And the NHS is being misused by some as the programme yesterday showed - hospital resources are being taken up by self-inflicted drunks up to 50% in this particular case.
I don't have all the answers.
    Hard Brexit now!

We make them pay for it by taxation surley. So maybe we should have some kind of special "duty" on booze and fags, and maybe fines for those who speed? Oh, wait a minue...

Actually, I've had a self inflicted drink related injury ... clearly when I fell on that bit of glass and cut my wrist cause I was pished and messing about I should have just bled to death rather than bother the A&E doctor (ANd tax payer) ...
You should have been treated but forced to pay for that particular treatment.
You're free to make your choices - and bear the consequences of them.

            ANY

Kids drink too much, so your answer is to abolish the NHS. You really need to stop smoking whatever it is you've been smoking.

What's the duty on a gallon of cheap cider. Not enough.

The NHS isn't working. Why not look to France and Germany as a model?

I think the nanny state is defined by the fact that of you get pissed and behave like an arse you'll be looked after.
My point is exactly against the nanny state - feel free to get pissed, cut yourself, take drugs whatever - just don;t expect the state to bear the brunt of the cost.

Sorry, but you are clearly talking out of your backside in a deliberate attempt to wind people up. I suggest you grow up.
