Jade was a bigotted, poorly educated, loud mouthed, common-as-muck cretin.

      She should have joined CUK.

She was entertaining to start with - a pleasure to watch. She made people laugh, and people took her into their hearts.

Then after that she "wrote" for many girls mags (I'm not expecting any of you lot to have read any of them - but it doesn't mean they didn't exist).

She also hosted 2 "fly on the wall" documentaries - one about a Salon that she owned and ran, and one about her life in the media circus - both quite interesting.

She also had a range of clothes. And she had her own perfume.

She did stuff all the time - obviously stuff that the likes of you lot on here wouldn't be interested in, but many hundreds of thousands of other people were!

You're right about one thing though: Parkinson criticises people today who are, in his words, famous for nothing but being famous. He doesn't seem to think that that describes him to a T.
Well at least Parkinson was a polite, urbane, suave interviewer on TV. If someone were to use him as a role model for how to behave they wouldn't go far wrong.
He was also at one time Britain's youngest army Captain and served in Suez.

Comparing him with Jade Goody just doesn't work.

The fact that's she's been so successful for so long at keeping jobs within the media, to me deems her as very talented indeed!

If you class good role models as being people who: -

              Work incredible hard
Seek out opportunites and grab them firmly with both hands
Take criticism on the chin, even when it's from the entire country and never let it harm your self esteem
Never care about conforming to the norm
              Look after alcholic/disabled mothers
              Are exceptionally good mothers
              Own their own businesses

..then yes, I'd say she was a massive cut above the rest.

Take what Parky said and reverse it, then see which is closer to the truth.

'Jade was well educated, sophisticated, urbane and very mature'

                sorry Sally.

                  .
I think the meaning of the word "talent" has now been devalued.

SA, she had SFA talent, unless you count being pig ignorant, dumb and ugly as talent.

She's an expression of the americanisation of our culture, where stupidity is celebrated and being clever is villified. Great fcking example to kids in council estates that one.

Be dumb and you'll go a long way. I grew up on an estate as well, and I used to have to try to hide being clever so I wouldn't get any sh!t from people, luckily I was tough enough I could handle myself if I did - how many kids can say that.
