I find it astonishing that - despite constant govt interference and erosion of civil liberties - it takes a couple of Pot Noodles at the taxpayers expense before the public gives a toss (as it were).

Back on subject, they named the mainstream stuff - so why not name which porn movies he was watching....

They named the relevant cinematography on LBC this morning. Old Guys, Young Thighs and something with Angel Long as the female lead but I can't remember the title.

Hmm, I think this is 2 separate issues. I loathe her for the reasons you mention, however I think this issue is more to do with the snouts in the trough, and it takes something as ridiculous as this as the straw to break the camel's back. The public has rightly had enough of being fleeced, esp in light of the bank bail outs, so this is why the whole expense thing is coming into focus now. The fact that she's already under investigation for getting tax payers money to pay for her sister's home is the real issue here - the jazz flicks are just adding fuel to the fire.

Personally I think her position should now be untenable, but what the hell do I know. I see a few of the papers are stepping up the pressure, and even the beeb is reporting that she's losing credibility. The tories aren't making such an issue of this, probably due to the old "throwing stones whilst living in a glass house" adage.
