A thread to post all of those useless public sector non-jobs.

I feel this thread will provide useful service for the contracting community as it will encourage people to take more physical exercise.

For instance after reading the job advert below I got an uncontrollage urge to beat the hell out of a punchbag at my local gym.

Waste for the taxpayer perhaps, but not for the government.

That's another labour vote in the bag...

Turkeys don't vote for Christmas and Labour have bred a lot of turkeys over the past decade.

There we are - a nice cushy job for some of our PM cousins on the board. Should tide you over until the recession hits the public sector in a few years at which point you can jump back to the recovering private sector, or vote Labour in the hope of dragging it out for another 5 years.

DIRECTOR OF INVESTIGATIONS, EDINBURGH

Salary band £59,119 - £73,673 plus pension

Our core function is to provide a simple, accessible, independent complaint handling service for the general public that also contributes to improvement in the delivery of public services. Reporting to the Ombudsman, the Director of Investigations will play a key role within the Executive Team designing and delivering strategic priorities for the organisation at a time of change.

Ideally you will have worked at a senior level with or within the public sector and will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of how it operates. You will be used to analysing complex information and reaching sound judgements. You will be results-driven and focused on continuous improvement, and you will be experienced in leading, coaching and developing people.

You will be responsible for managing the Investigations Management Team and delivering an exemplary, user-focused investigations service. You will play a key part in driving organisational performance to ensure the investigations teams operate efficiently and effectively.
