I thought Galactic Credits were Cr, not GC. They certainly were in Elite, and that can't have been wrong.
Can we have florins (10 Cr) and pieces of eight and shillings (5 Cr or 12 CR ?)) and a mark (1000 Cr ?) and a Lira (one squillion Cr) and, um, what other multiples?Drivelling in TPD is not a mental health issue. We're just community blogging, that's all.

There is more to this than worrying about the stability of the dollar.
If china et al drop using the dollar for buying oil / and for financial reserves, it will bring down the US.
The US have used the dollar to effectively pay for oil without paying for it.
Robert Newman, made a great analogy to Salvador Dali paying for his dinner in a restaurant: He would write a cheque, then on the back do a drawing and sign it. The restaurant owner wouldn't cash the cheque because it was worth more than the value it represented.
