British Empire - good or bad?

I've already exposed the fallacy in leftie-liberal thinking on this one. They deny that such a thing as indigenous peoples and cultures exist in order to justify the mass immigration policies they like. Yet they would also oppose the British empire or indeed any colonisation as it would involve imposing the colonisers way of life on the colonised.

the only way to explain this leftie-liberal flaw is that they want to create a global communist system and so things like patriotism, religion, culture pertaining to individual nations need to be dismantled

It can be good or bad depending on which era you live(d) in, who you were, where you lived, and a whole other stack of variables. Right now the British Empire in general would probably be bad unless it was a complete world domination.

British empire was a mixed bag.

Pro :
It established peace accross 20% of the Earth.
It stamped out distressing practices like Thugee (ritual murder of travellers) and reduced Suti (ritual suicide of widows).

Against :
It repressed native peoples and removed their liberty.
It simply cost too much to go on.
It wasn't PC.
