Mind you, I have a rubbish Nottingham accent as well.

I was having a last vin chaud with my ski class a few weeks ago when one of the other French women asked me if I had attended a centre of excellence for my accent (the French have load of these things for everything and anything, apparently).

I had to explain Received Pronunciation..

(But I do like Guinness, does that count?)
You are so not a paddy - but we could adopt you!!

There is a bloke who stands at the top of the royal mile next to Edinburgh Castle with blue paint over half his face. There is a statue next to Stirling castle of William Wallace who looks like Mell Gibson. The SNP vote went up 10% after braveheart. The Scottish people are so thick they get nationalism from a film.

Not bad considering Braveheart was filmed in Ireland!

My parents are Irish although I was born in Scotland, spent most of my early years in Donegal and lived there for a bit and in Dublin in later years.

I play Irish traditional music when I'm not writing or out with the band (instruments plug in, much loudness), so I'll likely be playing somewhere on Paddy's Day and drinking Guinness which is my usual tipple.

                    I'm British.
Grandfather was from Roscommon - but left as a kid.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

As far as I am aware, there is absolutely no connection between me and Ireland whatsoever, and I have never even thought to look for one.

I used to think that I could do the accent spot on but I was told that absolutely noone was convinced that I was Jamaican. Boss.
