    University Challenge

I think that, instead of disqualifying an entire team for one member, they should do a re-match. Indeed, let Corpus Christi play with three against Manchester's four. I'm sure that Gail Trimble could wipe the floor with those redbrick kids single-handed, again.

What about the earlier rounds? Will they be replayed too?

Not all the losing teams might want to be publicly humiliated by Gail Trimble all over again.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Oxford have got previous for cheating at University Challenge. They should be banned from taking part.

Not sure about being publicly humilitated, but... *ahem*

I think they should all have one big mud wrestle to sort out this kerfuffle.

Just done a check. In all earlier rounds, Gail Trimble scored more on her own than the entire opposing team; and until the semi-final, she scored more single-handed in each match than twice the opposing team's total score.

Well if she's so damn smart they should have got her to fill in the application form and read the bleedin' rules!!

Hopefully once the Oxbridge lot at the BBC have been replaced by the new generation of Meeja Studies poppets then this fixation with Oxbridge and making everyone know just how superior it is will fade away (and we won't have to have their boring, who gives a toss rowing race on the TV every year).

I wouldn't have gone even if they hadn't turned me down for a place!
