Not so smug now are you, you swotty bint?

Nice to see the good, honest Northerners prevail.
What a remarkably revealing post. Sam Kay is disqualified, and your first thought is not to comment about him, but schadenfreude about Gail Trimble, who nevertheless remains the most successful contestant in the programme's history.

    A bit insecure, are we?

"THE BBC has launched an inquiry after claims a member of the winning team on University Challenge may not have been a lazy, self-indulgent ponce."

One of the things I like about Great Britain: that there is a quiz show that is not dumbed down for fear of making the mojority feel like under-achievers.

One of the things I dislike about Great Britain: that so many people want nothing more for successful contestants than to hammer them down again.

Where my opinion has really sunk is not about University Challenge, or any contestants, but here, about many of you people.

Speaking of dumbed down quizes, the Krypton Factor has really dumbed down.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

jeez...anybody would think this thing is a threat to world peace.

Someone should tell the BBC that it is only a quiz. It's hardly earth-shattering stuff.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - Epicurus
