    Undemocratic? Brown?

But he's the hereditary Prime Minister. What has democracy got to do with him?

This government encouraged the banks, and pursued reckless policies that brought them (RBS and the rest) to their knees.

Will the right honourable PM and his ministers be offering to surrender their pensions. They should do the decent thing, and give us a general erection.

Wouldn't it just be far far easier if Gordon Mugabe just arranged for Sir Fred to have an "accident" while he's away on holiday somewhere? That would save the taxpayer a lot of money and someone else gets to clear up the mess.

This debate is akin to two prostitutes arguing as to whom is the greater virgin.

Ms Harman - your comments on money for nothing - but that is precisely the mechanism used by Central Banks - making money for nothing and then lending it to Governments with interest - and just who are these Central Bankers - these men of Lust Greed and Glory ?

Rip Off the Masks - and Lets See.

Now theyre planning the Crime of the Century
            Read all about
            Their schemes and adventuring

Of course on the bn66 thread we find that the government has introduced retrospective legislation : and we were denied a judicial review(being appealed). I hope the government does it and forces Fred the Shred into the same boat as us : as you say it is likely we will win but probably only after the case has gone to ECHR.

Do you lose your pension rights in this situation?

Of course not. Basic labour law, you can never take people's pensions away. Are we regressing to the 19th Century with arbitrary treatment of staff at Brown's whim?

Brown wants to make undemocractic legislation directed against a single person to deflect attention from Brown's gross incompetence.

                Shameful.

Brown has already effectively taken people's pensions away since his stealth tax on dividend tax credits since 1997.
Goodwin has taken his pension under false pretences as are many other RBS ex-employees who are entitled to take a full pension at 50 if they are made redundant. RBS was bust and therefore those benefits should not be allowed. This situation shows the real costly incompetence of this incredible government.

Lamont started all this by reducing ACT back in 1993. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...orporation_tax

Brown just continued what the Tories did.

No he hasn't. He negotiated an exit package and it seems he negotiated pretty well.

Harriet Harman is a clueless idiot. But then, we knew that already...

ACT was advanced corporation tax and thus nothing to do whatsoever with dividend tax credits in pension schemes.
