That looks like a serious piece of kit. I was thinking of buying a decent mop after chatting to the bloke that services my car - his main business is restoring classic cars, and he recommended paying the extra for a decent one. I've also been offered a mop on loan, so I'll probably check that out first.

I'd be interested to know how you get on, I've always wanted to have a play with one but could never justify shelling out a couple of hundred quid for all the kit just to do my own car.

Will certainly keep you posted when I finally get round to doing it - probably a job for the summer. Hopefully I'll be able to get a consistent finish on it.

It's just the first gen that were branded differently in Japan:

In Japan, the car was not badged as a Mazda, as the company was experimenting with the creation of different marques for deluxe models, similar to Nissan's Infiniti and Toyota's Lexus. Instead, the Mazda MX-5 was sold as the Eunos Roadster in that market.

Its a Japanese grey import, ie not homologated for Europe, but basically the same car.

I would think you could pick up used callipers from a breakers quite easily if they don't free-off.

I have a 20 year old jap import and the biggest problem I have is finding replacements for broken trim, window seals etc..

You will enjoy having a convertible though

I have had a Eunos before, and rate MX5PArts very highly.

Autolink is also a good place, but more of a hobby owner than a dedicated business like MX5Parts.

Yeah, I've been pretty happy with them too - there are some real bargains on there from time to time.
