The idea here was not only to get people buying eco-friendly cars but also to help the car industry
I don't understand how the car industry can be struggling. I thought cars were supposed to be absolutely essential because there's no public transport in this country and the trains smell and are very expensive and have chavs on them.
So hang on, if I'm after a new motor, I should go out and get me an old banger first for a ton, swap it in for my 2K, then go and get my new car, hopefully discounted due to the recession?
People driving 9 year old cars are unlikely to be swimming in good credit ratings and disposable income!
Stupid idea in my opinion!
Rubbish! Look at Sasguru for a start. Some of us like putting money into things that appreciate (like houses at the right point). And a fancy car attracts burglers : people 4 houses with posh Merc got broken into recently.

Not sure I can. Does it mean the more houses you own the probability of being broken into increases? Or is it only if your houses are expensive ones? Or one of them has a mercedes parked in front?
