Yep, filtering out "unknown number" calls will guard against all but the most persistent agents.

Many companies show only a switchboard number (I suppose I mean "reception") when someone calls, and quite a lot don't show a number. Even ignoring other possibilities like roaming where some link in the chain fails to pass on the info, that means that a lot of "unknown" calls are not because the caller wishes to hide his number.

If it doesn't happen to you, you're lucky. Most of the calls that I actually want to take are "unknown".

The caller id policy would be set by the company not the individual agent. Most agencies block the caller id. Can't see how not answering a call is to your advantage as it might be genuine. I can tell within seconds if a call is genuine and will terminate it if not.

It's a tad difficult to filter out these calls sometime, as the pimps have now taken to ringing with what is a genuine role, they talk through a "spec" and where the role is based and rates.

I have noticed a trend that when they then start asking about your experience, they haven't a clue industry wise. As anyone who should be recruiting in your industry will have familiarity with the companies you have worked with.

The next eejit who tries this will get told where to go.

What's worse is some of my regular pimps are doing this as well, I will get guys that I don't normally deal with from within the company trying to filtch their colleagues roles....

It's the skills and experience timescales they ask you to go through...

"OK, Can you tell me how many year experience you have with the WEB? hmm 4? maybe 5? Shall I just put down 2? The client is building a WEB system it says in the spec but you don’t have WEB on your CV"

"Why don't you phone me back when you read the CV love or go back to hairdressing"

            End call.

It's when I get "and you worked at such and such, what do they do and where are they based?"

**** off and stop wasting my time you moron!
