I do not believe it can actually. These conferences are now so stage managed that every little action and reaction is choreographed. So, no this cannot be explained away as a simple mistake. This was absolutely intended. What the New Lie missed, as usual, was the Law of Unintended Consequences. In this case, if you will have thugs positioned to jump on dissenters, thugish behaviour is going to be seen on the TV.
