When I was a little kid of about four in the early 50s there still were loads of US GIs going to and from the US by ship. Most of them were black. I asked my mum who those (black) guys were. She replied "They are Americans". It was for many years after I thought all blacks are American and Americans black. With age comes wisdom indeed. I've reached the same point, but I'm still in my 40's (just).How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
