Another way of looking at that as a contractor is to get the capital out of your house and use it to create a business which will largely run itself. Inflation proof pension sorted!Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away. -

They might do it at the moment but once Gordon has bankrupted us I certainly would not want to rely on previous policy !!

Looks like the few short positions were cashed in this morning and then the bandwagon real investors have piled back in following the trend. If Barclays are to believed, their writedowns still leaves them 3billion in the red after 2008 profits are offset. (assuming its the truth).Comment

I don't think it was shorted as much as some think. Was largely investors worrying their shares would become worthless by forced public ownership. What a ride, was down £600 at one point, now £180 up. Wish I had the balls to buy at 48pThe court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment
