    Ok then, from Wikipedia:

"[software engineering is the]..systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software, and the study of these approaches."

I would imagine very few, if any, on here are software engineers
    Hard Brexit now!

          Agree actually.

Software development and/or programming isn't Software Engineering.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Right, during the development of "ska", what processes do you think AtW went through from "conception" to the various deliveries of both the distributed client and the server based applications?

The process of 'design and development'?

(no market analysis or profit forecast tho)

If you don't understand the difference, I guess you're into programming.
Look up the syllabus of a Software Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering degree as opposed to a Computer Science/Computing syllabus.

And let me tell you you would not get into a plane whose software had been written by "programmers."

I think he probably went through the Pot Noodling process many, many times.

I would suggest he went through some if not all of the following:-

                    Requirements Gathering and analysis
                    High Level Design
                    Development of prototypes
                    Purchasing of hardware
                    Low Level Design
                    Implementation(Development)
                    Component testing
                    Integration testing
                    Multiple deliveries
                    Bug fixing
Delivery of updated software to the field
Maintenance of a website to collate field reports and inform his volunteers of progress
Marketing of the various products developed during the project.

In my opinion one hell of an achievement! Even more so when you consider that he's done most of it single-handedly!

The day I need a lesson from you regarding software engineering will be a cold day in hell I can assure you!

However, I'm sure you can teach me a few things about belittling others achievements! Particularly when you haven't got a clue about what they've achieved in the first place.
