            Well I would suggest the "leafy" suburbs, rather than the concrete jungle.

            I mean there are plenty of nice areas that aren't expensive. Parts of Oerlikon are nice. 4 minute S Bahn ride to Zürich HBF.

                  The trains are so reliable and regular you can easily live in one of the outlying towns on the lake and get to work with a 20 minute commute.

                    I'd go for Kloten if the air noise is not of your concern. Close to the center, airport and many workplace, extremely well connected to most areas. And cheap.
