You need sales before you can have profits. Granted your costs of those sales may exceed your revenue - but without sales you can't have profits!

Of course most cars are exported - with only two plants in the whole world that is envitable.
However, I have just used my slightly privileged position to check the actual data on 2008 (Dec is excluded). The UK was the biggest single market for Jaguar last year. Some way behind, in second was USA.

True. But my comment was on the fact that the BBC had reported BMW's Mini sales rise, and not JLR's Jaguar one. Not whether they were profitable or not!
