Some friends had their unborn child diagnosed with Edwards Syndrome late last year, and had to consider the various options. Not something easy to think about yet alone decide upon.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

          Brillo, these things happen.

My father is 70 very soon, he's been a smoker since he was 9 and it looks like he's going to outlive my younger brother.

By rights, you're correct, no parent should ever have to bury their offspring. But we don't live in a "perfect world". I found out recently that my cousin has cervical cancer, she's only just 40 and was "allowed home from hospital" for Xmas.

My family is quite small and we've had 3 members of the family with various forms of Cancer.

The rest of us have to live on and cope with that.

I'm a great believer in fate, In fact, I believe that the day we're born, the date of our death is pre-ordained.

Yeah, my cousin died just after his 4th birthday - after a long battle with cancer. The poor little fecker, it was horrible.

Thing that upset me was that she was so upset - and its 6 months after the death. Who can blame her though. I wish I could have thought of something comforting instead of changing the subject.

Brillo, It's very difficult, the relationship we have with death changes over time.

I'd love for you to meet my brother, he's handling the tulip a damn site better than I could even imagine to.

A friend of mine died 24 years ago at age 16, his mother has kept his bedroom clean and the same since the day of his death, we all handle loss of a loved one in different ways. You Said what you said and did what you did at the time. Come on little buddy, don't over analyze.

                Mark.

sh 1 t man. what could you do ?

if one of mine died, what could anyone possibly say to comfort me ?

the best you can do is put your hand on the shoulder and say

                  'if you need anything'

                  then fck off quick
                  (\__/)

Sorry, but the sentence didn't seem to have the same impact as stating I fell asleep during LotR at the cinema.

If makes you happy - I hope I never have to read LotR or watch LotR parts 2 & 3

I've had that 3 times now, the stuff that clears you out the night before is far worse than the actual procedure IMO.

I'm having a barium meal for breakfast tomorrow at 9AM, deep joy!

In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
