    Telegraph now reporting that KP and Peter Moores have both quit, Strauss to be named captain and Andy Flower as caretaker coach.

      Interesting point, but then I thought of runners. Should the Olympics hold heats over 100m, semi-finals over 1500m and the final a marathon? Bolt would never have won a medal, and nor would Gabrisalasi, Coe or Ovett. We'd be watching mediocre jacks of all trades, masters of none.

      Very few cricketers have mastered all forms of the game. I'd rather see specialists at each than mediocrity, where half the players consistently fail and reduce the quality on show.

          Hmmm - Flower has no real experience as a coach, and is very close to Moores. Great batsman, and has to be admired for his stance over Zimbabwe, though.

          Interesting times ahead.

              Strauss should have kept the captaincy for the last Ashes series, instead of giving it to the idiot Flintoff.
