Edinburgh performed best with price falls of 6% in the year.

"However, Scotland was the only region to see an increase during the fourth quarter, with prices rising by 0.1%.

The report said that Scotland was the most optimistic part of the UK with regard to expectations for future house price movements and had been so "consistently throughout 2008"."

I don't know where these figures come from but Scotland has fallen much more than the prices they are stating.

        Yeah but think about it...

People are saying house prices have fallen 16% blah blah, it's only fallen 16% of a stupidly inflated figure at the peak of the debt subsidized boom of mid 2000.

Scotland didn't have such a huge boom as other places (e.g. London) and probably has a realistic house price range, rather than these fly by night estate agents who pimped up the market down south.

To further my point, it would be better to have gained 30% then lost 16%, than say to only have increased 3% with 0% loss?

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

The conservatives will be delighted to double their number of votes in Scotland.

I'm sorry, you can say a lot of bad things about the Scots, but not that cybernuisance is one of them.
