But how do we decide what we don't need. We probably don't need most of the service industry, it generates wealth, but we don't need it.Originally posted by John GaltWhy couldn't we use all of the unemployed - they sit on their backsides all day but bring in money - make them do what the rest of us have to do - go out and earn a living! Also consider - more people - more toilet cleaners - less people less toilet cleaners. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

That's the million dollar question saggy cat. You have to have a reasonable balance and we haven't got it. Newly qualified doctors are having hell and all trouble finding a job because so many doctors have been recruited from overseas. You also have to consider how many immigrants are of financial benefit to the country - it costs us enough to support our own home grown layabouts without supporting other peoples as well. At least most UK expats take a certain wealth with them which will be of benefit to their adopted countryOriginally posted by BagpussBut how do we decide what we don't need. John Galt: You also should mention that many UK ex pats take considerable amounts of ability with them, leaving the UK up the proverbial creek without a paddle. For example now I am in Denmark look at how well Denmarks e-gov projects are going and how bad to worse the UK ones are...
There again the UK gov could buy my Child Support Support System for £500 mil, but it appears they'd rather waste money.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Most people in the pro-immigration lobby seem to see immigrant communities, and immigrants themselves, as no more than an adornment to British society and their presence a living testament to those peoples' PC values, mascots almost, as one might think of hedgehogs living at the bottom of the garden being proof of one's right-thinking green outlook.Originally posted by The Lone GunmanPart of the problem is that we have a Govt. that is trying to bend over backwards to accomodate the migrants at the expense of the indiginous communities.
In a way that's more patronising and insulting than many racists, who at least don't take immigrants' gratitude and acquiescence of Western ways for granted, apart from a few quaint ethnic customs, and aren't surprised when the immigrants prefer their own traditions (which are often more sound than soppy socialist Western attitudes).Last edited by OwlHoot; 22 September 2005, 15:23.Work in the public sector?
