The lst time I installed messenger and skype onto my PC I slowed it to an arthritic crawl....
I would use Google chat as it doesn't install software (I don't think).
But since no-one contacts me using this mode of communication it's all rather academic..."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Skype and MSN (various clients - Adium, WLM, Windows messenger depends where I am).
