What do people do on the last week...
SA says;
Well you looked so stylish I thought you batted for the other camp - thats like the ultimate compliment!
I couldn't imagine you ever having a hair out of place!
n5gooner is awarded +5 Xeno Geek Points.(whatever these are) -
- take copies of as much code sample and document templates as possible
- get names and phone numbers of as many managers (or future managers) as possible
- pub lunches, you buy the drinks
Key is to leave on good terms (hence the drinks buying) and don't lose the knowledge you've gained there (hence taking copies of the code and docs)
Chico, what time is it? -

Usually work like an idiot as everyone says "Oh it would be great if you could just finish this before you go" or "make sure you document this, this and this and handover all of this and....".Originally posted by n5goonerWhat do people do on their last week of a contract ? ? ?
The have a big pissup at the end and put your credit card behind the bar and see let the permies try and make you flinch when you come to sign the bill at the end and say something like "£357? Not even 3 hours pay".

I generally try to work from home on my last week as I am not good at goodbyes. I also remember with fondness my first long walk of shame - being escorted out of the building at the end the contract. Boss at that time said "Chico hand in your gun and badge (laptop, work phone, security access card, RAS token etc) and I happen to be walking to the exit so let me walk with you..." Yeah right. The final indignity.Sola gratia

I had a senior civil servant at HMT watch me pack my bag on the final day and escort me out, in case I tried to steal anything. Yet on my last contract the client didn't even bother to say goodbye. I had my own office and was left to my own devices - for all they knew I could have kept my security passes allowing me to access highly sensitive government information.Originally posted by ChicoI generally try to work from home on my last week as I am not good at goodbyes. Don't encourage him, Francko... it's Monday morning FFS.
I normally say I'm leaving a month after my contract end date. Then a week before I'm due to go I start complaining about seeing flashing lights at night, shapes in the sky and missing periods of time.
Not turning up the next week has the technogeeks bringing up Star trek conspiracy theories, UFO's, abductions etc
Always leave on a mystery...If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment
