        I think an editor has been over enthusiastic or the writer forgot to say all they meant. I reckon he was saying that an IT contractor doesn't have to spend all that VAT as they can claim some of it back, whereas a permie has to pay all that VAT as they have no chance to reclaim.

          Usually these sort of books are written when the system (eg greyhound racing) no longer works and the author just wants to extract a bit more cash out of a dying idea.

                  The section that details IR35 isn't available, which is a shame.

                  One of the Amazon reviews says "I have completely sidestepped the whole IR35 Tax issue," so it must be pretty good

                    Page 356/7 tells you how to go from contracting on £30k a year to £900 a day in 10 years.
