What you have to ask yourself is whether any time soon banks will be able to ride a few huge bubbles at the same time to pay themselves ridiculous bonuses and giving you false feeling of "value" in £5 shares?

As against investing for the long term in a company that will grow a solid business, reinvest in itself, and pay a consistent dividend? Nah, that's not what the stock market is for, it's for speculation, gambling, and get-rich-quick.
