Is it pretending to be a child again?

The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys? And BGG's present cost $500!

I have never agreed with that saying, and if thats the only difference some men have between them and boys.... they (the men) must have very small willies.

Either you're being devil's advocate Tay or you seriously underestimate the appeal of lego and star wars.

I suppose a lot of it is nostalgia, as in "when I was a youngster, I used to play with the stuff".

Some of it is the satisfaction of "buiding something". I used to get the same satisfaction when writing a program that worked.

Some of it is the challenge involved in the process and the stimulation of the grey matter, in the same sense of completing a crossword.

Some of it is the "Star Wars" factor, which is nostaglic and geek cool in itself. And let's face it, the M-Falcon is probably the coolest ship to boot.

Lego (and I guess Meccano...remember that ?) is a very cool toy for a number of reasons, and no doubt there are plenty of more reasons too !

Have a good day folks !
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Devlils advocate? Well I have ben known to partake in that hobby.
But not in this case. I dont think it is very challenging, nor does the end result look very good. I like rugby, doesnt mean I want to make a huge Lego rugby ball.
