Duh, I’ll try to explain this in simple language. Man has income of 100 groats per year. Man borrow 1000 groats to fight war against other man. Take 12 years pay back with interest. War cost very much more than 1000 groats. War cost 10,000,000 groats. Man not have so much money, so he issue IOU to bank, with sentence saying ‘if I not pay back, then you take money from my son and his son and his son with lots of interest for ever and ever’. Bank just as stupid as man and lend man lot of money. Bank also lend much money to other men who buy big houses while they have no job; bank unregulated so sell debts to others saying ‘solid gold investment’. Banker’s customers not so stupid; not believe bank. Customers remove deposits. Bank go bust. Everyone have big economic problem. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? I think we have a candidate for the AndyW/Chico crownThe court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Erm, possibly, but in many cases they’re less educated and therefore unable to find a better job. Perhaps if US public education hadn’t failed them they’d be able to choose a cushy well paid position posting stuff on CUK instead of having their bowels spread across the Iraqi tarmac and their friends’ faces by roadside bombs.Originally posted by contractor79 View Postbraver than uAnd what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Yep, that’s what war looks like. Faeces, brains, children’s bowels, bits of unborn babies, urine, blood, vomit, limbs, the whole lot spread around people’s faces and clothes. I saw it very briefly in West Africa as a child when a long running tribal dispute about nothing in particular blew up into a short, but very murderous conflict. I’m sorry to be really graphic about this but it’s not pretty or glamorous, and anyone who’s seen it and become anything other than a pacifist, or at least VERY reluctant to support a war, needs his head examining.Originally posted by DS23 View Postfaeces spread all over their faces. nice. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? I like contractor79, he brightens the place up.
All you lot spend way to much time agreeing with each other... you need a villain so you all have someone to gang up on and feed each others righteous indignation.
I would rather have a board with personas like contractor79 than a board full of TPD losers all agreeing with each other, counting the amount of posts they make and nerd flirting.Comment
