The problem to me is not just that it's offensive to some, in the sense of offence vs freedom of expression; it was a public exhibition of offensive behaviour towards 2 different people who were not there to answer back.

It was in fact a piece of bullying: that's what I don't think should be allowed to pass.

Nothing that they do to Brand and Ross will come anywhere close to that, but personally I think the daughter of Sachs should sue both of them for her public shaming.
As usual, you miss the point, the Hamiltons and Archole have since popped up in various BBC programmes, paid for by us! The Hamiltons and Archole never seemed very ashamed of what they'd done.

I hardly think any embarrassment could top what she does to herself.
Just because she doesn't work in an office, doesn't mean she is embarrassed by what she does.

To be honest I reckon she probably finds her job a right laugh.

I'm not retracting anything I said about Brand and Ross in another thread, but i've since learned some more about the case and I think the producer/editor of the program that contained the offensive material should also be sacked.

Apparently the show was recorded and Sachs heard the offending items and made a complaint. Whoever decides this kind of thing and ignored Sachs' complaints and broadcast the item anyway. That is either a case of gross insensitivity and incompetence or an example of blatant malevolence. Either way I wouldn't want such a person in MY employ.

I think everything has now been blown up out of all proportion and the people involved should be dealt with and Andrew Sachs and his granddaughter left in peace.
          It's Deja-vu all over again!

Mandelson has returned many times after being dumped for sleaze and the saga continues. Taking responsibility starts at the top, as role-models, or those at the bottom will behave in the same way.

She should come out and sell her story on Brand, and do all that she can to humiliate him.

I agree, Mandy is beneath contempt (like the Hamiltons, Archole et al). My point was that even if these two goons are fired, they will be back in some form sooner or later.

It is bullying and it is humiliation that these guys were dishing out. The girl herself may have brought it upon herself, but involving Sachs was deplorable.
These guys were doing it only for themselves. I would be much more impressed if these two cowards were to pick on a Muslim terrorist or laugh at the way muslim extremists treat their women. Imagine them calling one of the "hate" preachers and asking him if he is "getting any".

                      Hehe. Indeed.

I have no doubt that ticket sales for their next show will soar.
