Spot on !! Laser surgery is only temporary. So many people seem to think that they will have perfect vision for ever after.

I had it done like about 15 years ago when it was laser keratotomy (they just laser the front of your eyeball off).

I was as blind as the proverbial, and it changed my life. Not having to wear glasses is fantastic. Yeah I get a slight halo effect around streetlights etc at night, but its not really noticeable and actually could just be from the drugs LOL

In the 15 years since, my eyes have gone back about 1/2 a diopta which is nothing. I might need glasses later on or I might get it done again. Its better to wait til you are a bit older - i was nearly *cough*30*cough* when I had mine done - your eyes change too much before your 30s apparently.

Anyone who says not to get it done needs to watch the Men Behaving Badly espisode where Neil gets glasses...

Had it done for the second time about 3 weeks ago.. started out as -10 (), first time got me down to about -2 and this time I'm better than 20:20 so far () but waiting for it to settle down.. couldn't go all the way first time in case the heat build up introduced heat distortion.

It's certainly an uncomfortable procedure.. but definitely tolerable or I wouldn't have gone back for more! Plus it's over in minutes..

Is it worth it? I guess it depends on what you view the benefits are.. I couldn't do anything without my specs before.. now I can do everything!

Don't you miss your bionic close-up vision though?

Without my specs, I am blind

But..... I don't think I would trade my specs for surgery... Sometimes they are good to hide behind.

Likewise - glasses can make you look intelligent (works for me until I open my mouth)

                    I've had laser eye surgery.

Seemed to work ok for me.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I had a look into laser eye surgery but I chickened out, I'm use to my glasses now.
