Indoor ski centres are boring after an hour or two.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -
As has been said, a week in Soldeu in Andorra is good - excellent ski schools (AFAIK). I've not been for a LONG time though.
Someone here (possibly XL Monkey?) has a flat there as his plan B. It's someone with a monkey / chimp / ape avatar, and it's not NickFitz if that helps.Comment

If you mean Meribel is nicer resort then yes I agree, I had a few nice lunches there, 1650 was nice, 1850 was overpriced and full of Russians.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Agree - rich mobster Russians, with absolutely no fkcin class and hooker girlfriends. Never been anywhere before where I've seen such a large concentration of them in one place.Originally posted by gingerjedi View Post

Meribel always used to be the place for the "rah" crowd - I used to ski Val Thorens a lot some time ago. Sadly, it's been too long now - although I found a post on here from a year ago where I said that I'd got permission to take my elder daughter this year, so maybe it's time to get back in the saddle...Originally posted by gingerjedi View Post

Another vote here for Andorra if it is cheap that you want. The skiing is not the most challenging, but that doesn't sound like it will be an issue in the OP's case.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostAs has been said, a week in Soldeu in Andorra is good - excellent ski schools (AFAIK). Smokers can probably recoup the cost of the whole trip by stocking up on Cigarettes while they are there (strictly speaking Andorra is not in the EU so that isn't really allowed but you are not very likely to be be caught because you have to travel through France or Spain before you can return to the UK and they are not going to care when you cross the border).
I went for a week back in my permie days with a group of Australians - you can be certain that they would have found the cheapest place to go <ducks for cover>Comment
