WHS - Andorra is a good reasonably priced compromise. Eastern Europe might be a little rough around the edges. I've been to Andorra and stayed in a luxury spa hotel for the same price as a normal place in The Alps. Turn off the central heating, burn your T-zone with a UV lamp, dress-up like you've walked through Millets whilst coated in glue, paint your stairs white and walk up and down them until sweaty, jump off the top stair so as to break a leg, sleep in your shed, drink loads of schnapps, and that's 99% of the job done.
