It is a typically English thing to gradually invalidate people as time goes on.

-several contracts you've been on have gone belly up
-you want to use a pseudonym
-your not english and obviously think us english have a liking for invalidating people (whatever that means)
-you believe databases are the key factor in all this
-you have a touch of self loathing but also a touch of grandeur
