That will all come out in court in January. As we all should now know, the Rock had absolutely no toxic debt, but was caught in a whirlwind of incompetence by Darling , Brown, King and Peston.

This should be the making of Brown as PM. The fight back will start with by-election victory next month (no great shakes given their existing majority, but...). Maybe the next election wont be the landslide many expected.

        4 more years?
They sat back and did nothing; it all went wrong; they dithered a bit; it went very wrong; they decided to raid the coffers to bail out the banks. Where in that series of steps do you see "the making of Brown"? You are, I fear, imbecilic and possibly on drugs.

The next year of recession, mainly due to lack of early action last year, will be the final nail in Brown's coffin.
100 Billion will be added to the borrowing requirement over the next year due to overspending, and that excludes the 400 Billion potential bail-out requirement(NB: they will get this back, but it will not be in this term).
Brown is dead meat and New Lie also, especially once Mandelson gets the job as opposition leader !!!

much as I hate Labour, unlike Cybercretin, I don't let ideology get in the way of my judgement. It is true to some extent that this is an unprecedented systemic global crisis in which there are few pointers from the past about the right way to do things.
I don't think Labour have done too badly in the circumstances.
Suddenly all these monkey geeks of limited intellect like atW and Cybercretin are holding forth as if they are some kind of finance gurus.
              Makes me
              Hard Brexit now!

I love how Cyberman gets it completely wrong yesterday on the interest rate cut, and hardly blinks. Credibility a bit shot, empty vessels and all that.

I think actually the perception is that he came forward and did what was required to prevent meltdown, whilst giving the taxpayer as much protection as possible.

Brown comes over much better when he just deals with the issues and doesn't try to get all touchy feely / TB-ish. The polls will show it, wait and see if the the tory lead is not narrowed a bit.

These things are both facts. It doesn't mean I will vote for him. You need to get out of your "fox news" blinker mode and try and see what has really gone on here.
