To be pedantic, that is actually a Range Rover Sport. Smaller than a Range Rover. A Range Rover would probably have been damaged even less.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostThe Toyota Previa:

Bull bars are illegal, due to the damage they did in pedestrian collisionsOriginally posted by DimPrawn View PostI wonder why middle class moms drive giant 4 tonne bull-bar coated 4x4's these days? The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Are they? I ask because I've seen quite few 4x4's and pickups here with them fitted. Big 2 inch diameter chromed steel jobbies. Good for killing children even at 10 MPH.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostBull bars are illegal, due to the damage they did in pedestrian collisionsComment

The Toyota will have been cut to pieces by the fire service to get the bodies out.
There is nothing to say the Range Rover was responsible for the damage to the Toyota.
FWIW I think he should have got longer. I suspect if he was facing life he would have pleaded not guilty and got Mr Loophole to represent him.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Yes it's a real pity that that poor family probably couldn't afford the same level of protection.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostThe Toyota Previa:

More of a pity that the footballer could afford a RR, I’m not saying I wanted him to die or anything but great power comes great responsibility and all that.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

The wrong thing is release before tariff is fully served - there should not be such thing as early release at all, if you don't behave in prison you should get extra years on top of sentence.
He's hardly likely to try to kill more people as this was an 'accident' anyway.
The most reduction anybody gets should be no more than 10% IMO.Comment
