Stolen, though, from a story told by Alec Guinness about a time when he was playing Hamlet. A woman approached him after a performance and said she'd read a book that described a particularly brilliant and insightful approach to playing the part of the Dane. What's the book? asked Guinness. Dunno. Who wrote it? Dunno. The publisher? Sorry, dunno. Can you remember anything about the book so that I may source a copy? It had a blue cover. Upon hearing this tale from Kenneth Williams, Barbara Windsor said, that's about as much use as a fart in wet blancmange.

Likewise, I am a huge Pratchett fan! Currently re-reading Wyrd Sisters.

Don Quixote is good, until the last 4 billion pages, where it tails-off noticeably into rehashed rubbish.

I got bogged down in The Brothers Karamzov. A friend (?) remarked that the first 300 pages or so were a bit boring, but it got interesting after that.

Currently reading Iain M Banks, Matter. The best current SF around IMO.

I've just read his latest offering too, excellent although not set on the Discworld.
