Those who don't understand Unix are condemned to repeat it. Badly

Exchange is rubbish
I think 2003 is pretty much the same as 2000 -RUBBISH!!!Originally posted by allanh1But the new version of exchange will surely be a copy of notes after microsoft employed the guy who put most of the code into notes..
Unfortunately I was using it at 1am - 5am this morning!!!Comment

notescontractor: Agree there. I found a bug is still in Exchange 2003 that has been whinged about for years. It would be so so easy to fix, but they do not.
Now if it was open source, the issue would not exist, it would have been fixed long ago.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Does not matter to you which is better (otherwise MS would have been wiped out long ago on virtually every front), what matters is which is more in use.Originally posted by notescontractorAs far as I'm concerned Notes beats Microsoft hands down, it is so dynamic. Great to see that they have just released version 7
Still very popular with major companies
Notes lost to MS long ago and it's time to jump ship or go down with it.Comment

Notes better than Outlook... Outlook better than Notes... What do you think about the job market anyway? Summer is over but it still looks like it's dead.Comment

Some people say its frenetic and others say its quiet. Can't quite figure it out myself. I guess it depends rather on what your skill set is. I rather suspect that the warm weather of late has postponed activity somewhat, who can be arsed with interview tests when the sun is shining? As the actress said to the Bishop; "giving is as hard as receiving". I gave many when I was at my last job, doesn't it always fall on the contractor to get all the dirty work?Comment

The Java contract market in London seems to have gone crazy today. Spent 75% of the day on the phone to agents. But then, it might just be one job.

How is the Notes market now
I last posted a year ago and my Notes admin contract has now been running for 4 years and looks certain to finish in Feb 07.
Does anyone have any idea what the Notes/Domino contract market is looking like? I cant face a 35k to 40k permie role - this would be a 50% pay cut!!!
Feeling very worried, should I be????Comment

Depends what work you want to do - there should be quite a few santa jobs about at the mo, but get in there quick as they will be gone fairly soon!Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment
