I'd leave three prints in the snow.

Trolling aside, for the sake of historical accuracy, the Romans conquered all of Scotland, but found the mountains of the north too hard to keep a hold of due to guerilla tactics (cf Afghanistan) so drew back and consolidated the edge of their control at Hadrians Wall, and later the Antonine Wall, which runs north of Glasgow. In later years it was used more as a way to control trading and taxes than as protection.

Now it just gets used as a backdrop for inaccurate Kevin Costner movies.

      Did you take the hint?

I abhor 'football'. Rugby Union is the gentlemans' game.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

                Thank you.

                  The Romans

During their conquest of Britain the Roman army came up against the formidable opposition of the tribes in Wales. Fighting was often bitter, and it was not until AD 78 that the whole of Wales was occupied. Wales was subjected to tight military control by means of a network of forts garrisoned by auxiliary units under the command of two legions, based at Caerleon and Chester.
The Romans developed a great respect and fear of the Welsh and their bowmanship (The Welsh Longbow). apparently the Legions used to cut down and burn any Yew trees that they found, so the the Welsh couldn't make bows

They sewed up all the sheeps bottoms they could find too, to stop them breeding.

The Welsh are currently feared for their use of Strongbow (or "a pint of 'Bow" luv)

I know this. My in-laws are Welsh.
