    No thanks.
    Good point.

he's sensible enough these days. I think he will be ok. The amount of cash he is earning is making it worth his while

Sensible enough? So am I - but I have walked past the door of a coffee shop in Holland recently, who knows whether someone ground a spliff into the pavement that I walked on. Just a trace could get me 4 years.

No amount of cash is worth selling myself to that sort of lot.

I think I'll pass as well. From what I have heard from mates that have been out there it sounds like one of the few places on earth I have zero desire to visit or work in.

I've been for holiday and it's grand. The thing is you have to respect their culture as much as you'd want people to respect your own.

My brother only went recently but my cousin has been there for over a year with his wife. Other members of the family have been there for a good few years with no problems.

I guess that's my problem: I don't respect that sort of mediaeval injustice. Not here, not anywhere. Nothing to do with respecting other cultures: it's just wrong.

                  Fat chance of that.

White middle class Englishman here. Nobody respects my culture.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Thank you CM. I appreciate that. Still, I'm not exactly sure what constitutes my 'culture'. really.

Warm beer, cricket on the village green, scones for tea, jumpers for goalposts... [oh no, he's off again]
