1. Any government that thinks it can actually run an economy is certifiable.
2. There is more to do than run the economy. If I did nothing but make money, my life would be a wasted life (-- Charlie Munger). If the government does nothing but "run" (i.e. not ruin) the economy, and keep your taxes down, then it stands condemned for not doing any of the important things that government is actually for.

Everybody else knows that, and you won't admit it, so why do I bother?

This is where the Tories are so different to New Lie. New Lie always believe that to improve things you have to spend money. That is simply not true, because with good ideas improvements can be made and money can also be saved at the same time.

We had a mock election too - and being a slightly "tooty" grammar school in the heart of ToryShire I was "selected" to run as the NewLieBor man. I made the mistake of using a quote / soundbite twice and was not allowed to forget it. What an utter waste of time.
