Having had my head kicked-in in Liverpool city centre, just after having drawn out £100 quid from the cashpoint (I know, I know) about 10 years back, I recommend Southport, still.

Was it a good kicking or just a bit of a slapping around ?

It may be a decent evening on the town to you and me, but it's the mortgage paid for a Scouser.

Full booting session. The cherry on the cake was being dropped off near the Mersey tunnel entrance by the cops (by this time it was 01:30, Sunday, couldn't get a cab, as my account had been cleaned-out (I was a student then), bloodied clothes, face swollen, a bit wobbly on my feet) and told, "There yer are, mate. Sorry, can't take yer through der tunnel." - and this after them saying they'd get me home!

Fair enough you can stay in Southport if you ever come back to Liverpool.

A mate of mine had a good kicking one time ( in a friendly Northern town ) and was knocked out, he came round and started to have a pee in the road ( no idea what day it was, covered in blood, etc etc ) . The friendly local plod came along and arrested him for peeing in the road !

Yeah I know what you mean. I went to London a few years ago and someone had my phone away, therefore everyone in London must be trash

They are - your logic is sound.

I was born and raised, for a while, in Liverpool, my family's origins are there and many of my more distant relatives live there: it's still a toilet.
