    New Land tax

    http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/pol...icle308976.ece

The Government is to bring in a "housing land tax" to share some of the huge windfall gains that are made when land is sold off for housebuilding

    Nice.

interestingly this tax on land with planning permission may make it easier to get planning permission as Gordon will have a vested interest in planning permission being approved

wonder if this rule is being bought in, in anticipation of giving vast amounts of green belt over for building houses and making sure that Gordon gets part of the financial rewards

        Milan.

Why do we need loads of new houses?

Yeah, but don't they eat most of their young?

May now be worth speculating by buying one of those plots without planning permission in the Home Counties?

                  and this will help because?

So building land prices are set to rocket.
So new builds will be even more expensive.
Which will make older properties more appealing.
Which will push up prices even more.

Now what was it NL were saying about a housing shortage?
What were they saying about 1st time buyers being priced out of the market?
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Have you seen how many eggs those buggers lay? It's enough to bring a tear to the eye.
